Private Wild Places

The NatureSpot web site features over 500 ‘Wild Places’ in Leicestershire and Rutland – all sites with notable wildlife interest. These pages automatically filter and then display all the records and images on our database for that site, providing a regularly updated picture of the wildlife seen there.  NatureSpot only publicises Wild Places that have public access but we do set up Wild Place feature pages for private sites. These pages are not publicised on our website nor linked to any menu or map, but are available to view privately when you are provided with the page link.

Private Wild Place pages work in exactly the same way as the publicised Wild Places. They are a great way to view and monitor the wildlife found on your own patch. If desired, you can add your own description and updates to the page (we can give you edit permission if you would like this) and you can share the page link with friends, family and colleagues as you choose (we won't share it with anyone).

We do ask for a donation (ideally an annual contribution) to help with the set up and running costs, the amount is up to you. Once created, your Wild Place page will remain indefinitely and will automatically update whenever we receive a record (together with any attached images) for your site - an incentive to get Nature Spotting!
