About us
NatureSpot is a registered charity which promotes the wildlife and wild places of Leicestershire and Rutland and engages the public in local biodiversity. It is entirely run by committed volunteers and funded by grants and donations.
Our aims are to help people:
- discover the wildlife and wild places of Leicestershire and Rutland
- identify local wildlife
- record the wildlife they see
Our work is overseen by a Board of Trustees comprising local naturalists and conservation professionals. We are also supported by the Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust, Leicestershire County Council, Leicester City Council and the National Forest.
We also work closely with County Recorders, the Leicestershire and Rutland Environmental Records Centre (LRERC) and many of the local natural history organisations.
