Albugo candida
Albugo candida is a white fungus-like organism that attacks various crucifers often causing serious deformities and damage to the plants. The visual signs are a crusty white coating, which consists of thousands of spore capsules that burst through the plants epidermis. This may cause thickening and distortion of the stem, leaves and fruits.
On various crucifers, especially Shepherd's-purse .

Fairly widespread and not particularly uncommon in Britain.
Occasional in Leicestershire and Rutland - the Woodhouse Eaves record of 15th June 2013 is the 9th for VC 55.
