Lestiphorus bicinctus
A distinctive wasp with yellow bands on both the thorax and abdomen. It has dark smudges on each wing. The legs are largely black but with yellow on the underside of the femora.
Associated with scrubby areas but in a wide variety of habitats.
June to early October.
Prey mainly comprises cicadellid and cercopid bugs.
Mainly southern England, possibly advancing.
Rare.
