A key member of the NatureSpot Team was a Finalist in the NBN Lifetime Achievement Awards 2024. More...
The NBN Lifetime Achievement Awards recognise and celebrate the outstanding contribution people have made to wildlife recording and data sharing, which is helping to improve our understanding of UK biodiversity and assisting conservation efforts. In 2024 16 individuals were nominated for this prestigious award. Of these, five people were selected as Finalists in this Award category.
Graham Calow has been central to NatureSpot ever since we began in 2011 when he was instrumental in setting up NatureSpot with David Nicholls. In final he faced very stiff competition from some of the best naturalists in the country. The 2024 Award was given to Roger Morris (from Surrey) and Stuart Ball (from Cambridgeshire), two of the best entomologists in the country - congratulations from NatureSpot to both of them. However, Graham's all-round contribution to recording, conservation, and education have had a profound impact on our County and has inspired countless individuals. We wouldn't swap him for any number of award winners - he's far too valuable for that!
