Why did we choose this image?  This photo shows how well Foxes have adapted to urban and suburban life in the past few decades. This chap (as is evident from the photo) is a regular on the allotment trail cam and is often captured with something in his mouth. We can't quite see what it is in this photo, but maybe he's been sampling someone's sweetcorn, or he's been raiding the compost heap. Good trail cameras have become much more affordable recently, and if you want to know what goes on after lights out in your garden or neighbourhood, you'll have hours of entertainment if you pick one up. It may also help you win the Mammal Spotter Competition 1st-31st August 2023.
