NatureSpot's fish expert recently took a walk along the canal and saw lots of fish. At this time of year young fish often gather near the surface of the water in rivers, canals and lakes. Fish records are rarely submitted to NatureSpot as they can be difficult to identify from pictures, but with care they can be done. It helps to darken the image a little as this usually shows more details and reduces reflection from the surface.  Hopefully we will see more fish on NatureSpot in future.
