In January we discovered an insect in Box bushes which has never never been recorded here before, the Jumping Plant Louse, Spanioneura fonscolombii. Now we've found a second one also in Box (Buxus sempervirens). Anthocoris butleri, the Box Flower Bug is a small predatory bug which lives on, among other things, Spanioneura fonscolombii. It is very similar to the much more common and widespread Flower Bug Anthocoris nemoralis and needs close examination to identify it - all the details are on the species page. We would like more records for this bug, the most difficult part is finding Box bushes!
