The NatureSpot Annual Report has been published, revealing that 2022 was another record breaking year in many ways. More...

Summary:

  • 54,451 records were submitted in 2022, a 22% increase from the previous year.
  • In total, 424,418 records for Leicestershire and Rutland have now been received through NatureSpot.
  • Records of 4,174 different species were submitted, the highest in our history - 252 of these were species not previously recorded on NatureSpot.
  • The number of active recorders submitting wildlife records to NatureSpot in 2022 was the highest to date - 298. Of these, 100 were new recorders submitting records for the first time.
  • The NatureSpot Facebook group grew from 300 to over 500 members, a 79% increase. The NatureSpot Twitter account now has 944 followers, a 12% increase over the year, with an annual reach of nearly a quarter of a million views.
