The NatureSpot Board of Trustees has been busy thinking about the future. More...

Graham Calow has been at the heart of NatureSpot for the last decade. Together with Dave Nicholls, Graham helped set up NatureSpot and has served as Chair of the Board of Trustees from 2016 until the present. Highly active behind the scenes, Graham is our most prolific recorder of Leicestershire's natural history with over 22,000 verified records across many different species groups. The other key function that Graham carries out (assisted by David Gould) is the setting up of all the new species recorded - researching then writing the species account and specifying the taxonomy. He has done this more than 7200 times so far.... and counting! The good news is that Graham is not going away, he will continue as a Trustee and remain a mainstay of our ongoing efforts to verify the increasing number of records you submit. In this, his knowledge and experience is invaluable. However, Graham has earned a break and has been given time off for good behaviour!

At the meeting of the NatureSpot Board of Trustees on 23rd November, it was decided that the post of Chair will become a revolving appointment with each occupant serving a one year term. At this meeting, Alan Cann was appointed as Chair for 2021 with Sue Timms as Chair Elect for 2022. Stepping into Graham's shoes will not be an easy task but the Board of Trustees is focused on ensuring the future of NatureSpot.
