The Parish of Market Bosworth includes the village of Far Coton as well as the settlement of Market Bosworth. Winner of many Britain in Bloom awards and well known for its characterful Market Place, interesting shops and popular eateries, Market Bosworth is a small market town that can trace its history back to a settlement in the Bronze Age. The Battle of Bosworth took place to the south of the town in the village of Upton in 1485. If you take a walk around the town you will find shields and Tudor roses as well as street nameplates decorated with Henry VII's dragon and Richard III's boar in recognition of the Battle. There are also three schools, three churches and several open spaces within walking distance, including the Country Park, Water Park and Battlefield Line Railway.
