Higham on the Hill lies near to Hinckley on the western edge of Leicestershire. The Ashby Canal runs through the east of the parish.
Higham has joined the Leicestershire verge biodiversity project and has taken on the management of the Main Street verge in the village. To find out more, see the Wild Place page links above.

The Ivy Bee is a newcomer to Leicestershire and only appeared her in 2017. It is one of the latest bees to appear each year, taking advantage of late-flowering Ivy. This one was photographed in the parish along the Ashby Canal.
