Winter polypore - Lentinus brumalis
A small polypore wth central scaly stem. The upper surface is usually grey-brown becoming darker with age. Underneath, the fertile surface has coarse pores, 2-4 per mm, whitiish - buff, and easily seen with the naked eye.
