Garland Roundhead - Stropharia coronilla

Description

A smallish fungus, with a smooth slightly cap that is sticky when wet, convex initially then flattening.   It is light yellow-brown in clour. with a paler margin.  Gills are adnate (attached to the stipe) and greyish- to purplish-brown, and the stem is whitish.  There is a thick ring with a grooved upper side.

Similar Species

It can look similar to an Agaricus mushroom, but these all have free gills (unattached to the stipe)
