Stereum rameale

Description

An annual resupinate crust, growing as rounded patches that may look bracket-like.  The non-fertile surface finely downy with fringed edge.  Pale yellow to greyish-yellow.  It does not bleed or stain when bruised.

Photograph in habitat and both sides -  fertile surface and cap; note host plant and substrate.   This is difficult to identify from photos and we recommend that it is verified from a specimen by an expert before submission to Naturespot

Hardwoods, especially Oak; usually smaller branches and twigs

Summer and autumn.
