Silver Cloud - Egira conspicillaris
Wingspan 36 to 42 mm.
In view of the rarity of this species in our area a photograph is required to support records.
Open woodland and orchards.
On the wing during April and May.
A very local species, occurring mainly around the Severn Valley in the south-west of England. In a recent survey to determine the status of all macro moths in Britain this species was classified as Nationally Scarce A.
Rare in Leicestershire and Rutland – the Queniborough record of 4th May 2022 was the first for VC55.
