Puccinia albescens
This rust causes galls on Moschatel (Adoxa moschatellina). It is host specific; there is no host alternation. The spermogonia and aecia are scattered all over the plant, but the plant is not very stunted or distorted. Telia are rarely found.
Puccinia adoxae also causes galls on Moschatel, with brown telia. Puccinia argentata also causes galls on this host but is rare (ref. Redfern & Shirley 2023) and has not been recorded in VC55.
Unless identified by a recognised expert, a photo is required. If the photo doesn't show the key ID features then in the comments box describe the size and identifying characters you have observed.
