This is a difficult species, and we recommend that it is verified by an expert from a specimen before submission to Naturespot. Microscopic examination will be needed. Also photograph from top down, in side view and underneath to show gills and full length of stipe; note habitat and substrate.
It occurs on soil, often among grass in woodland glades, fields and gardens.
Late summer and autumn.
A rather infrequent species found mainly in the English Midlands and some areas further north.
Status in Leicestershire and Rutland not known.
