Podosphaera leucotricha

Podosphaera leucotricha is a mildew which affects the leaves and stems of woody Rosaceae species such as Apple (Malus sp.), producing a powdery, white coating. Infected leaves often become disfigured.

Where apple or other host trees occur.

Apple Powdery Mildew emerges in the spring. Primary infections begin when the fungus which infected the plant in the previous year breaks its dormancy and resumes its growth.

Widespread in Britain.

Status in Leicestershire and Rutland not known.
