Pink Water-Speedwell - Veronica catenata

Medium tall plant, with erect, often stout stems, sometimes much branched. Leaves linear to linear lanceolate, all unstalked. Flowers pink, with reddish-purple veins, 3 to 5 mm, in slender long stalked racemes.

Glabrous plant; pinkish flowers; wet places.

Often close to, or growing in slow moving water. Wet ditches etc.

June to August.

Perennial.

Fairly frequent throughout Britain.

Fairly frequent in Leicestershire and Rutland. In the 1979 Flora survey of Leicestershire it was found in 104 of the 617 tetrads.

In the current Checklist (Jeeves, 2011) it is listed as Native, locally frequent
