Perfoliate Pondweed - Potamogeton perfoliatus
All leaves submerged, dark green, oval to rounded, clasping the stem with heart shaped bases, minutely toothed at least when young.
Rivers, canals, reservoirs - less frequently in ponds.
June to September.
Perennial.
Widespread and fairly frequent in Britain.
Locally fairly frequent in Leicestershire and Rutland. In the 1979 Flora survey of Leicestershire it was found in 50 of the 617 tetrads.
