Peach Blossom - Thyatira batis

Wingspan 32-38 mm. A beautifully-marked moth, with its pinkish spots on a brown background.

Woodland and other well wooded areas.

The adults fly at night in June and July and can be attracted by bright lights or a sugar-mixture.

The reddish-brown caterpillar feeds on Bramble in late summer.

Fairly common in throughout Britain except the extreme north. In a recent survey to determine the status of all macro moths in Britain this species was classified as common.

Fairly common in Leicestershire and Rutland. L&R Moth Group status = A (common and resident)
