Pantilius tunicatus
Length 8-10 mm. The large size (antennae shorter than the body) and spectacular colouring make it almost unmistakeable. The extent of the red markings is variable, and newly emerged adults can be almost entirely green.
This bug may be found on the lower branches of Hazel, Alder and Birch.
It is a late season species and usually does not appear until September.
It may overwinter
Reasonably common and widespread across southern Britain at least.
Fairly frequent in Leicestershire and Rutland.
