Odiellus spinosus
A large bodied harvestman (male to 6.5 to 8mm, female 7 to 11mm) with short to medium length legs. It has a black-edged saddle that stops abruptly towards the rear of the abdomen. The three frontal horns on the trident are relatively horizontal. The abdomen has several rows of brown spots across each tergite.
It prefers man made habitats and is most often found in gardens and around buildings.
The adults emerge in June and can live on until December.
It usually lives on the ground but will climb bushes, trees and walls.
A southerly species that has been moving northwards.
Still seems to be uncommon in Leicestershire and Rutland.
