Marsh Willowherb - Epilobium palustre
The plant has slender underground stolons and erect unridged stems. Leaves mostly opposite, lanceolate, pointed, untoothed and unstalked. Flowers pale pink, sometimes white 8 to 12 mm in lax raceme. Inflorescence often somewhat bristly, stigma club shaped.
Wet habitats, marshes etc.
July and August.
Perennial.
Widespread and quite common in Britain.
Not common in Leicestershire and Rutland, in Leicestershire it is found mainly in the west of the county and is rare in the east. In the 1979 Flora survey of Leicestershire it was found in 30 of the 617 tetrads.
