Leaf Parachute - Marasmius epiphyllus

A tiny white species associated with the leaves of Ash and Poplar.  The gills and white and widely spaced; the stipe is brown with a white apex. 

Other small white Marasmius or Mycena occur on fallen decaying leaves of various species.

Photograph from top down, in side-view and underneath to show gills; ensure your photo clearly shows the length of the stipe from gills to base.  You must note substrate and habitat, and either identify the leaf species or ensure your photos include clear images of the whole leaf

On decaying leaves of poplar and ash

Late summer and autumn.

Widespread and quite common in Britain.

Fairly frequent in Leicestershire and Rutland.
