Lathrobium brunnipes

Description

Length around 10 mm. A very dark almost black rove beetle with orangey coloured legs.

Habitat

They generally inhabit leaf litter and other decaying matter.

When to see it

All year round but especially late spring to autumn.

UK Status

Quite common and widespread in Britain.

VC55 Status

Fairly common in Leicestershire and Rutland. There were a total of 321 VC55 records for this species up to March 2015.
