Cap convex, with a narrow central bump, becoming flattened, felty, ochraceous brown, about 1 to 4 cm across. Gills adnate, crowded, brown, margin serrated, pale.

On sandy soil with Birch and Willow.

Widespread but rather infrequent in Britain.
