Hymenoscyphus imberbis
The fruit bodies are initially white stalked discs, becoming depressed in the centre as they mature. The short, tapering stalks are downy towards the base. Damaged fruit bodies become pinkish around the damaged areas. Up to 2 mm diameter.
Found growing on rotting wood which is usually very wet, lying in stream beds or in contact with lying water. Hosts include Alder, Ash and Oak.
Fruiting from spring to early winter.
