Hooded Crow - Corvus cornix

Description

Essentially a grey and black Carrion Crow, which it resembles in everything apart from plumage, which is grey on the body and mantle, contrasting with the black head, breast, wings and tail.  Hybrids show a mixture of both forms and care should be taken in eliminating these before claiming any Hooded Crow.

Similar Species

No similar species but risk of Carrion x Hooded Crow hybrids.
