Hairy Bindweed - Calystegia pulchra
Climbing and twining plant. Leaves arrow shaped sometimes, but not always, parallel sided. Flowers always pink 50 to 75mm. Stems and leaf stalks may be slightly hairy when young.
Convolvulus arvensis also has pink and white striped flowers
Flowers much larger than Convolvulus arvensis, and a climbing plant. Petioles hairy (but sometimes sparsely so)
Hedgerows scrub and waste places.
July to September.
Perennial. Probably originally naturalised from garden escapes.
Widespread throughout Britain but never common anywhere.
Uncommon in Leicestershire and Rutland. In the 1979 Flora survey of Leicestershire it was found in 11 of the 617 tetrads.
