Glossiphonia heteroclita
Leech with six eyes. It is a pale yellowish in colour, and is associated with aquatic snails.

More often found in hard water than in soft, and is rarely found in running water.
Summer and autumn.
Believed to feed on Gastropods, and thought to spend much of the winter period in the mantle of certain snails.
Widespread in Britain.
Status in Leicestershire and Rutland not known.
