Euura nigricornis

Description

Size: female: 6 to 8 mm, male 6 to 7mm.  For a full description of the adult see 'Further Information' link below.

The larvae are green with a yellowish head and feed on Poplars and Willows.

UK Status

Fairly widespread, but not common, in southern Britain, north to Yorkshire.

VC55 Status

Rarely recorded in VC55 (Leicestershire and Rutland)  - the Fosse Meadows record of 13th October 2020 is believed to be the first for our area.
