Enochrus melanocephalus
Length 5.5 to 6.5 mm. A pale straw coloured water beetle.
Associated with richly vegetated pools and ponds, sometimes in shaded areas.
All year round.
It is widespread in England to Northumberland but few records for the south west, Wales and Ireland with none for Scotland.
Occasional in Leicestershire and Rutland. There were a total of 16 VC55 records for this species up to March 2015.
