Dryope decrepita
A tan-coloured fly with a body length of 5 to 8.5 mm and never attaining the large size of D. flaveola or D. anilis. The clouded wing veins and body colour result in a superficial resemblance to D. anilis but it has darker tarsi, less obviously darkened tips to wing veins R2+3, plus assorted structural differences.

Shady, humid woodland.
May to September.
The larvae are presumed to develop in carrion.
Dryomyza decrepita is widespread in Britain but most frequent in the north and west and scarce in the south and east.
Status in Leicestershire and Rutland not known.
