Druce's Crane's-bill - Geranium endressii x versicolor = G. x oxonianum
A plant with slightly funnel-shaped flowers (18 to 25 mm) which have five pink petals, usually covered with a tracery of purple lines. These lead towards the lighter-coloured centre of the flower where the anthers are tipped purple. Each petal has a shallow cleft at its outer edge. The leaves are five-lobed, palmate and deeply veined. A slightly hairy plant, it is quite erect, occasionally reaching to 60 cm
The parent species are G endressi and G versicolor; the hybrid forms a spectrum of variation between the two species, and there are many garden forms which will persist in the wild. G endressii has veins paler than or same colour as the ground colour of the petals; G versicolor has darker veins. See Stace (4th edn.) for further details
Petal ground colour pale to deep pink; with or without darker veins.
A garden plant which may escape and naturalise from time to time, often found close to habitation.
Flowers from May to September.
Perennial.
Widespread in Britain as a casual.
Infrequent or under recorded in Leicestershire and Rutland. In the 1979 Flora survey of Leicestershire it was found in only 1 of the 617 tetrads.
