Dicyphus epilobii
Length of adult macropters (long-winged forms) 4 to 5 mm. Legs and antennae long and slender; hind tibia c.3mm. and antennnae >3mm. Pale green with green collar between head and pronotum; vertex (front of head) often marked with red or brown. Often with dark spot at the apex of both the corium and the cuneus. Red basal antennal segments, but these can also occur in pale forms of Dicyphus errans. Pale mesopleura (thorax sides). Pronotum with two small rounded lumps (pronotal callosities) at the front part and smooth at the rear. Together with the collar, the callosities are less than the length of the smooth part of the pronotum to the back of the pronotum. (ref.: B S Nau, unpublished key to Miridae, 2012)

Detailed examination of the specimen is needed to identify the species; details of pronotum, mesopleura and measurements of antennae and hind tibia.

Adult: mainly July-October.
Very common (ref.: UK checklist 2021 on British Bugs website)
Fairly frequent in Leicestershire and Rutland.
