Deuterosminthurus bicinctus
Deuterosminthurus bicinctus is yellow with two distinctive large patches of violet pigment on the dorsal side. The morphology of D. bicinctus is very similar to that of Deuterosminthurus pallipes. In addition to the nominate form with the purple patches, there is another form, Deuterosminthurus bicinctus forma flavus, in which the pigmentation is orange-yellow.
Arboreal, found on herbaceous vegetation
Spring to Autumn
Widespread and thought to be fairly frequent in England and Wales, although poorly recorded.
Status in Leicestershire and Rutland not known.
