Demetrias imperialis
Length 5 to 5.5 mm. A distinctive ground beetle. It has straw brown elytra with dark/blackish markings.
This is a rare species in our area and good photographs are required to support records.
A characteristic beetle of reed beds.
All year round.
Uncommon in Britain and classed Nationally notable B. Mainly recorded from the south eastern corner of England from The Wash to the Isle of Wight.
Rare in Leicestershire and Rutland.
