Dacne rufifrons
It has dark blackish or blue-black elytra with indistinct red blotches.
Associated with bracket fungi and decaying timber.
Best June and July.
Breeds in dry fungus and decaying timber of broad-leaved trees.
Widespread and fairly frequent in England and Wales, less common elsewhere in Britain.
Fairly frequent in Leicestershire and Rutland. There were a total of 30 VC55 records for this species up to March 2015.
