Contacyphon palustris
A small (approx. 3.3 mm) reddish brown marsh beetle.
Favouring damp habitats such as pond margins and wet meadows.
Late May to August.
Widespread but local in Britain.
Infrequently recorded in Leicestershire and Rutland, although analysis in Warwickshire suggests the species may be increasing in the Midlands area. There were approximately 5 VC55 records for this species up to March 2015.
