Curled Pondweed - Potamogeton crispus
This plant has creeping rhizomes and winter buds borne directly on the stem. Leaves all submerged, narrow oblong, three to five veined and wavy with sharp serrated edges.
Lakes, ponds, slow moving streams and canals.
May to September.
Perennial.
Fairly frequent over much of Britain.
Locally frequent in Leicestershire and Rutland. In the 1979 Flora survey of Leicestershire it was found in 112 of the 617 tetrads.
