Curculio venosus

A fairly large brown weevil, with females measuring around 7mm. It is quite similar to some other members of this genus and care should be taken with identification. Raised ridge of "roof-like scales" forming an obvious raised ridge at the elytral apex, scutellum longer than broad.

Unless identified by a recognised expert, photographic evidence is required and the specimen should be examined with a microscope. In the comments box, state the key or ID method used.
