Crested Coral - Clavulina coralloides
This distinctive coral mushroom can be recognized in the field by its white colours and "cristate" branch tips, which are flattened and feature several tiny points.
In mixed woodland often in wet areas along ditches or banks.
Usually found from summer to early autumn
This fungus forms small clumps similar to marine coral.
Fairly common and widespread in Britain.
Fairly common in Leicestershire and Rutland.
