Crepidodera aurea
A tiny leaf beetle with very punctate elytra which can appear metallic green or maroon depending on the light. It will jump readily when disturbed. There are several similar species which makes potential identification difficult.
Associated with willows.
Peak time is summer.
Fairly frequent in southern England, with fewer records coming from Scotland and Wales.
Occasional in Leicestershire and Rutland. There were a total of 12 VC55 records for this species up to March 2015.
