Common Hemp-nettle - Galeopsis tetrahit
Short to medium roughly hairy plant. Stems well branched, swollen at the nodes. Hairy on opposite sides. Flowers pinkish purple with darker markings, rarely yellowish or whitish 15 to 20 mm long, the middle lobe of the lower lip not notched.

Lower lip is entire or very slightly notched; any dark lines, blotches and markings on lower lip fall short of the margins; lip more or less flat, not convex

July to October.
Annual.
Frequent throughout Britain.
Frequent in Leicestershire and Rutland. In the 1979 Flora survey of Leicestershire it was found in 199 of the 617 tetrads.
