Cercospora chenopodii
Cercospora chenopodii is a hyphomycete fungus which affects Atriplex and Chenopodium species causing spots or blotches on the leaves. Microscopic examination is needed to identify the species.
Ascochyta chenopodii also affects Atriplex and Chenopodium species, but the conidia of A. chenopodii don't go longer than 20 microns, whilst those of Cercospora chenopodii may be 50 microns or more.
Unless identified by a recognised expert, a photo is required, and the specimen should be examined with a microscope. In the comments box, state the key or ID method used and describe the size and identifying characters.
Occurs on Atriplex and Chenopodium species.
When the host plants are in leaf.
True status in Britain is difficult to determine due to lack of records.
