Buckwheat - Fagopyrum esculentum
This plant has white, sometimes pink tinged flowers and heart shaped leaves.
Wasteland and bare places.
In flower during July, August and September.
Annual which occasionally escapes from cultivation.
Widespread but not common in Britain.
Uncommon in Leicestershire and Rutland. In the 1979 Flora survey of Leicestershire it was found in only 2 of the 617 tetrads. The Ullesthorpe record of 5th Spetember 2012 is only the fourth record of this plant in VC55 since 1970.
