Athripsodes albifrons

Description

This caddis has a forewing length of 7 to 9 mm. The wings are dark brown with four white markings and the top of the head is white. There is a form interjectus which has black wings.

When to see it

May to September.

UK Status

Records indicate a mainly western and northern distribution in Britain. It can be fairly frequent where it occurs.

VC55 Status

Rare or under recorded in Leicestershire and Rutland. The Barrowden record of 9th August 2010 is the first record from our area.
