Aplotarsus incanus
Length: 7 to 8.5 mm. Dull black and elongate with a fine pubescence. Legs are brown. The pronotum is very finely punctuated (denser in males). Elytral punctures larger than those on the pronotum and very dense - running into each other. The frons (between the eyes) is relatively flat.

Larvae feed on grass roots, the adults on grasses, rushes and willows.
Fairly frequent in Britain mainly in the more central areas.
Fairly frequent in Leicestershire and Rutland. There were a total of 43 VC55 records for this species up to March 2015.
